Maaari nang makabisita sa Baguio City simula sa Huwebes, October 22 ang mga residente mula Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley at Central Luzon.
Ayon kay Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, nasa 200 bisita ang papayagang makapasok sa Baguio kada araw para matiyak na naipatutupad ng maayos ang proper visitor management.
Magkakaroon din ng bagong health at safety measures na isinasapinal ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
“Listening to visitors’ and stakeholders’ feedback will be essential for us to keep improving the tourism experience in Baguio,” sabi ni Puyat.
Ang pagdating ng mga turista sa Baguio ay makakatulong para muling mai-angat ang sektor ng turismo.
“It was a privilege to be working closely with the local government of Baguio during this process. We witnessed firsthand how they came up with effective policies to find the delicate balance between ensuring public safety and reopening for tourism to bring back jobs and livelihoods lost to the pandemic,” ani Puyat.
Napagdesisyunan din ng city government of Baguio na luwagan ang documentary requirements nito para sa mga turista sa ilalim ng kanilang Visitor Information and Travel Assistance (VISITA).
Ang mga turista ay hindi na kanilang i-book nag kanilang itineraries sa pamamagitan ng DOT-accredited tour agency, pero kailangan pa rin nilang i-book sa DOT-accredited accommodation establishment na inisyuhan ng Certificate of Authority to Operate.
Una nang binuksan ang Baguio sa mga turista mula Ilocos Region bilang bahagi ng “Ridge to Reef” travel bubble program.
