DTI Releases List Of Foreign Cement With PS License

ILIGAN CITY- The DTI – Lanao del Norte Provincial Office has released the List of Imported or Foreign
Cement Products with Valid Philippine Standard (PS) License and urges consumers,
hardware companies and construction firms to utilize the list for reference and as a guide
aside from the existing pool of domestically produced cement brands.
This is amidst the influx of imported cement in the country and with the peak of construction
activities during the summer season.

“DTI regulates consumer products for their reliability and safety. And in assuring that
mandatory products are safe to use by consumers, these goods must comply and pass the
requirements of the Philippine National Standards (PNS) including markings. These cement
were sampled, and subjected to various chemical and physical-mechanical tests before
being sold in the local market.”, PD Ruel B. Paclipan explained.

Portland Cement must meet the requirements of PNS 07:2005 while the Blended Hydraulic
Cement with Pozzolan must fulfil the requirements of PNS 63:2006.

The said list is extracted from the database of Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) for
Portland Cement, Type 1, and Blended Hydraulic Cement with Pozzolan, Type 1P.

Selling mandatory products without the required marking constitutes violation of DTI
Department Administrative Order 02 series of 2007 – Defining the Responsibilities and

Providers and or their Agents, with Regard to Products/Services Covered by Philippine
Standard Certification Mark Schemes.
