PRO9 HOLDS TRADITIONAL NEW YEAR’S CALL

Key officers of Police Regional Office 9 rendered the traditional New Year’s Call on PRO9 Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis D Licup at the PRO9 Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Col. Romeo Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on January 17, 2019.

The officers were led by the PRO9 command group: Police Chief Superintendent Edwin S De Ocampo, the Deputy Director for Administration; Police Senior Superintendent Narciso B Verdadero, the Deputy Director for Operations; and Police Senior Superintendent Christopher C Birung, the Regional Chief of Directorial Staff.

Other key personnel who called on the Regional Director included the PRO9 division chiefs (directorial staff), the three Provincial Directors, City Directors of ZCPO, Battalion Commander of the Regional Mobile Forces Battalion 9, Chief of Police of Isabela City Police Station, Chief of the Regional Headquarters Support Group, the members of his special and personal staff, the heads of the PNP National Support Units in Region 9.

Police Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis D Licup, in his message, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the men and women of PRO9 for their hard work and invaluable service that they poured in to PRO9 for the past year.

‘This is now my challenge for everyone this New Year. We should not stray from our sworn duty to serve and protect the community’. PCSUPT Licup said.

The Regional Director reiterated the underscored reminder of Chief, PNP Director General Oscar D Albayalde during the New Year’s Call in Camp Crame, wherein the police forces were ordered to remain non-partisan and to not patronize any political party.

The police force should find ways to crush private armed groups, and gun-for-hire squads—the usual suspects in election-related killings.

The police forces are reminded to keep the momentum going for its landmark campaigns: President Rodrigo Duterte’s so-called war on drugs and criminality.

The police force assures the public that there will be no let-up in cleansing the ranks of misfits and scalawags in the organization. The commanders on the ground are reminded to be responsible and accountable for erring personnel under them,”

The New Year’s Call is an age-old tradition in the uniformed services that allows subordinate leaders to manifest courtesy and loyalty to the commander. It is also an opportune time for the organization to renew its pledge of loyalty to the flag and the duly constituted authorities at the start of each year. The PNP adopts this tradition to serve as an inspiration for its officers in aiming the organization’s goals and objectives for the New Year.

The New Year’s Call was followed by a first command conference for 2019 presided over by PCSUPT Licup at the PRO9 Conference Room, Camp Col. Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City.
