A simplified bookkeeping system was introduced in this seminar in which concepts of record keeping was discussed through a simpler and understandable approach.

The ultimate goal was for the entrepreneurs to be able to set up a bookkeeping system of their own, customized to their particular business without the need to actually learn technical concepts of accounting. A total of twenty participants attended of which a greater percentage were from the retailing and servicing industry.

The Seminar on Tax Planning for MSMEs was also conducted under the SMERA Program last February 22, 2017.

A total of ten participants attended mostly belonging from the Trading and Services Business Sector. Ms. Erma Y. Darunday was tapped by DTI as the resource speaker for the said activity.

The participants were appreciative of the topics during the seminar since the speaker discussed actual experiences which they have encountered in dealing with clients and tips on how to better deal with the Bureau of Internal Revenue in terms of addressing open tax cases.

The activity was capped by an open forum where the participants were able to share their own experiences as well.
