BAGUIO, PHILIPPINES – Qualified beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) in the City of Baguio and the province of Benguet are eligible for the second tranche of cash subsidy being among the local government units where Enhanced Community Quarantine was extended from April 30 to May 15, 2020.
DSWD-CAR Regional Director Leo Quintilla disclosed in a PIA-led Kapihan media forum said that around 13,612 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Baguio City and Benguet have already received their second tranche of SAP financial assistance through their EMV cards.
For non-4Ps beneficiaries, there are 45,916 SAP beneficiaries from Baguio City and 59,918 in Benguet who received the first tranche of financial assistance. DSWD-CAR has scheduled distribution in partnership with the local government units, local social welfare, and development office and the Philippine National Police, and hopes to release the second tranche to the clean list of qualified beneficiaries by June 24.
Quintilla also reported that distribution of SAP cash assistance to the approved waitlisted or additional family beneficiaries in Cordillera already started last week with the pilot cash payout conducted in Kapangan, Benguet and Baguio City to a total of 396 beneficiaries.
