Mariing itinanggi ng maybahay ni Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III na si Kathryna Yu-Pimentel ang kumakalat na impormasyon sa social media na pumasok sa delivery room ng Makati Medical Center (MMC) ang asawa niya kahit positibo ito sa coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“I feel really sad they are insisting I was in the delivery room and Senator Koko… Never reached inside the delivery room. I took the stress test for the baby inside the examination room,” mensahe ni Kathryna na ipinadala sa mga reporter.
Nilinaw ni Kathryna na malayo ang delivery room sa examination room.
“The stress test happened around 8:30 p.m. last night in the examination room. Ako lang po mag-isa diyan. Kasi sabi din nila bawal ang husband or bantay,” ayon sa buntis na misis ng mambabatas.
Dagdag pa niya, sampung araw na rin silang hindi nagsasama ni Koko sa iisang kuwarto.
“It was only yesterday that he went with me for admission coz he was also excited to see me deliver “sana” which was scheduled today at 7am but was cancelled. They required me to get a swab test first before I’m allowed to give birth. So he never entered the delivery room… Even me, I didn’t enter the delivery room yet.”
Samantala, inamin ng senador na sinamahan niya ang kabiyak sa naturang ospital pero agad umalis nang malaman ang resulta ng COVID-19 test mula sa Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
“I was informed late last night March 24, 2020 that I have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The swab was taken last Friday, March 20, 2020. Since the last day of session March 11, 2020 I had already tried my best to limit my movement,” saad ni Koko.
Pinabulaanan din ng senador ang lumalabas na spekulasyon na nagpatulong siya kay DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III na makakuha ng private room sa pagamutan.
“I talked to Secretary Duque this morning March 25 2020 and he just asked me about my situation. By that time, I have already checked my wife Kath in the hospital since yesterday 6-7pm, March 24 2020” paliwanag ng senador.
Inulan ng batikos si Pimentel matapos mag-viral sa social media ang nangyaring komosyon sa loob ng MMC dahil inilihim nito ang kondisyon.
Nakatakda sanang manganak si Kathryna sa naturang pagamutan, Martes ng gabi.
