Our country is beset with calamities, both natural and man-made or technological types, all throughout the year. On May 23, 2019, RMN Foundation, in partnership with Philippine Red Cross, conducted a short seminar on Basic Life Support and First Aid for the faculty, students and parents of Hen. Pio del Pilar Elementary School 1, Makati City. Mr. Job Lim, PRC Rizal chapter volunteer instructor, taught the participants how to be ready and assist others who become injured or ill during a calamity or emergency situation until proper help arrives . This is part of RMN Balik Eskwela Project, in preparation for the school opening in June 2019.
Acting Principal Director, Dr. Vilma Montemayor says, “Not only the physical aspect, we make sure that the school and all the stakeholders are ready in times of a disaster that may hit our place and even the community as a whole.”
We cannot be an immobilized spectator while looking at a victim as he/she goes downhill shouting for help.
Let’s remember, “Forewarned is forearmed.”
