Manila, Philippines – Inalerto ni Senator Win Gatchalian ang Philippine Competition Commission o PCC laban sa posibleng monopolya sa ride-sharing industry na tiyak makakaapekto sa publiko.
Ang pangangalampag ni Gatchalian sa PCC ay kasunod ng pagbili ng Grab sa Uber.
Para kay Gatchalian, hindi ito pabor para sa mga Pilipino dahil nabawasan na ang magpapipilian natin pagdating sa Transport Network Vehicle Service o TNVS.
Giit ni Gatchalian sa PCC, bantayang mabuti ang maaring anti-competitive practices o mga hindi patas na hakbang para samantalahin ang sitwasyon.
Ang PCC ang nakikita ni Gatchalian na huling kalasag natin para matiyak na magiging resonable at patas ang ride-sharing industry.
STATEMENT OF SENATOR WIN GATCHALIAN ON GRAB BUYOUT OF UBER:
Even though Grab nor Uber has notified the PH Competition Commission about the recent buyout by former of the latter, the regulator should be wary about a creation of a new monopoly in the ride-sharing industry that can be detrimental to commuters. In an absence of any competition, the PCC should keep a close eye on any possible anti-competitive practices that will take advantage of this situation. We believe that this buyout is not favorable to the Filipino commuters as it would lessen choices for all of us. The PCC is now our last baston for fair and reasonable conduct in the ride-sharing industry.
