Pinapayagan na ng pamahalaan ang isla ng Boracay na tumanggap ng mga lokal na turista mula sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng General Community Quarantine (GCQ) at Modified GCQ simula sa Oktubre 1, 2020.
Batay sa Resolution No. 74 na inisyu ng Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), ang mga bibisita sa Boracay ay kailangang pumasa sa Coronavirus test bago bumiyahe sa isla.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, ipapatupad ang Test-Before-Travel at mahigpit na quarantine ang gagawin pagkatapos sumailalim sa test.
“In this regard, the Test-Before-Travel shall be implemented and strict quarantine shall be observed immediately after undergoing the test until the date of the travel to the island,” ani Roque.
Sa muling pagbubukas ng Boracay sa mga turista, sinabi ni Roque na luluwagan ang age restrictions habang mahigpit na ipapatupad ang restrictions para sa mga taong mayroong comorbidities.
Pinayuhan ng IATF ang mga airlines na lumapag sa Godofredo R. Ramos Airport sa Caticlan.
“Minimum health and safety guidelines as well as emergency response protocols must be in place, and a COVID-19 Laboratory in the locality must be operational,” sabi ni Roque.
Nitong Hunyo, inaprubahan ng Boracay Rehabilitation Task Force ang rekomendasyon ng Aklan Provincial Government na buksan ang Boracay para sa mga turista mula sa Western Visayas Region.
