Baguio, Philippines – Mayor Benjie Magalong today ordered stricter measures on the issuance and scrutiny of the tags and signages being attached by persons on their vehicles after discovering that some people use unauthorized ones to get past Enhanced Community Quarantine checkpoints in the city.The mayor said that Philippine National Police and Public Order and Safety Division personnnel launched an aggressive campaign yesterday against vehicles using unauthorized tags or signages and it was found out violators have been using fake signages such as Media, Food Delivery and even Medical Supplies. To address these violations, the mayor ordered that all tags and signages issued should have the authentic signature of the Mayor except those issued by other government agencies which bear the signature of agency heads.”Violators should be accosted, their vehicle plates confiscated and appropriate violation tickets issued,” the mayor ordered.BCPO Chief P/Col. Allen Rae Co said all passes from the city government should henceforth bear the original signature of the mayor while other passes or permits from other agencies will be subject to their validation process.The city mayor’s office will set up a process of issuing mayor-signed passes for the concerned sectors. – Story By: Aileen P.
