Umapela ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa publiko na makipagtulungan sa mga contact tracers para mahinto ang pagkalat ng COVID-19.
Ayon kay Interior Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, mahalagang maibigay nila ang mga impormasyong hinihingi ng mga contact tracers.
Iginiit ni Malaya na hindi mapuputol ang transmission ng COVID-19 kung hindi matutukoy o makikilala ang close contacts.
“We will never be able to cut the transmission if we not able to identify the close contacts. The only way to stop COVID-19 is if we are able to cut the transmission, and the only way we can cut the transmission is if we can immediately test and isolate those people needed to be tested and isolated. The only way we can identify that is through our contact tracing program,” sabi ni Malaya.
Ang contact tracing ay isinasagawa sa pamamagitan ng tawag o face-to-face interview.
Samantala, aabot na sa 10,136 contact tracers ang na-hire ng pamahalaan mula sa 55,000 applications sa buong bansa.
Nabatid na target ng pamahalaan na maabot ang target na 50,000 contact tracers na sasalang sa training bago i-deploy sa iba’t ibang Local Government Units (LGU).
Hindi naman magtatakda ng deadline ang DILG sa hiring ng contact tracers.
