Nagbabala ang Department of Health (DOH) sa publiko kaugnay ng overpricing ng ilang negosyante sa Remdesivir, isang investigational drug para sa COVID-19.
Ang Remdesivir ay nangangailangan ng compassionate use permit mula sa Food and Drug Administration (FDA) bago ito magamit sa pasyente.
Ayon sa DOH, mahaharap sa kasong kriminal at administratibo ang sino mang mahuhuling magmamanipula sa presyo ng basic necessities at prime commodities.
Ito ay alinsunod sa Rule XII, Section 1 ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Joint Administrative Order No. 1 S. 1993.
Bukod pa dito ang paglabag sa Section 5 ng RA 7581 o ang Illegal Acts of Price Manipulation.
