Tiniyak ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na makakaasa ang publiko ng mas pinalakas na pagpapatupad ng mga social protection programs matapos aprubahan ng Senado ang ₱210.6 billion na budget ng ahensya para sa taong 2023.
Kabilang sa popondohan ng ahensya ay ang mga attached at supervised agencies nito katulad ng Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC), National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), National Authority for Child Care (NACC), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), at Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP).
Nangako ang DSWD na mapopondohan pa rin ang tatlong major programs nito.
Kabilang dito ang Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) na may budget allotment na ₱110.6 billion, Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens ₱30.2 billion at ang Protective Services for Individuals and Families in Difficult Situations na may budget na ₱30.1 billion.
Naglaan din ang ahensya ng ₱11 billion para sa Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services—National Community-Driven and Development Project (Kalahi-CIDSS-NCDDP).
₱6.9 billion naman ang inilaan sa Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), ₱3.7 billion para sa Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) at ₱3.2 billion para sa serbisyong ipinagkakaloob sa mga residential at center-based clients.
