ECC receives recognition from PMAP

(ECC) – Regional Extension Unit 1 received a Certificate of Recognition from the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) – Pangasinan Chapter during its General Membership Meeting and Kapihan Session on December 2, 2020 at the Los Pedritos Restaurant in Dagupan City.

“We thank ECC for the constant support to PMAP’s programs, endeavors, member companies, individual members, and the organization as a whole,” PMAP Chapter President Mary Rizli Calimlim said.

Regional Officer Dexter Dupagan received the award on behalf of ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis. As one of the speakers during the said meeting, Dupagan discussed the benefits and services under the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP).


He highlighted the updates on ECP

asself-employed members are now covered under the EC Program pursuant to ECC Board Resolution No. 19-03-05 issued on March 06, 2019, promulgating the policy on expanding the coverage of ECP to the Self-Employed members of the Social Security System (SSS).

A total of 27 participants, composed of business owners, human resource practitioners and some of the public employment services office managers in the province of Pangasinan attended the activity.

“The information and knowledge you shared would definitely be a value to our members in adapting and complying with expected transitions through the year 2021,” Calimlim added.

The partnership between ECC and PMAP-Pangasinan Chapter has started last 2019.

PMAP is a premiere organization of human resource professionals and people managers in the country that provides mutual benefit of business sectors and the Filipino workforce.

“We are thankful to the People Management Association of the Philippines – Pangasinan Chapter for this collaboration. It is our hope that we can continue to partner with more organizations and associations as we aim to expand and enhance our programs,” Executive Director Banawis said.

The Employees’ Compensation Commission is a government corporation attached to the Department of Labor and Employment for policy coordination and guidance. It was created by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 626, as amended and as embodied in Title II, Book IV of the Labor Code of the Philippines.

The ECC is mandated to provide meaningful and appropriate compensation to workers and their dependents in the event of work- related contingencies such as sickness, injury, disability or death.
