Lumusot na sa Senado ang ikatlo at huling pagbasa ng panukalang magwawakas ng contractualization sa bansa.
Nakakuha ng 15 boto ang minumungkahing batas dahilan para tuluyan na itong pumasa sa Mataas na Kapulungan.
Ayon kay Senador Joel Villanueva, may akda ng Senate Bill No. 1826 o “Security of Tenure Bill”, magandang senyales ito para tuluyang matapos ang illegal contractualization at magbibigay seguridad sa mga mangaggawang Pinoy.
“We longed for this day to come, especially our workers who have suffered because of the evils of endo, a practice which corrupts the dignity of labor. We want to give all workers peace of mind when it comes to their employment status, that no worker can be dismissed without just or authorized cause, and due process,” pahayag ni Villanueva.
Kapag naisabatas, tutukuyin ang mga trabahador bilang regular, probationary, project, at seasonal. Para sa mga contractors, kailangan nilang kumuha ng lisensya mula sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
