Baguio, Philippines – Baguio City, being part of Benguet Province is included in the areas covered by the extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine until May 15, 2020, according to the National Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.As announced earlier, the ECQ pronouncement is subject to change in six provinces including Benguet Province by April 30, 2020.Mayor Benjamin Magalong welcomed the development saying the city’s ongoing sectoral planning activities to come up with post-ECQ recovery/transition plan anchored on the gradual easing up and reopening of essential economic activities will go on as scheduled.Current ECQ operations and COVID-19 control systems will continue to be pursued and improved as seen fit, the mayor said. – PIO Baguio
