Isang set of data na lang ang hinihintay ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) mula sa Gamaleya ng Russia para maaprubahan ang Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) application nito.
Ayon kay Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta, ilang technical issue na lamang ang kanilang nireresolba sa Russia.
Mayroon na aniyang isang grupo na nakatutok at nakikipag-ugnayan sa FDA para sa mas mabilis na pagproseso ng mga dokumento ng Gamaleya.
Oras na matapos ito, handa na ang Russia na umupo at makipagkasundo para sa bibilhing bakuna ng Pilipinas sa Gamaleya.
“What I know is there’s been active exchanges and where at the point where there’s just another set of data that we need and I am making sure that this data gets to us in a form that it can be processed. And then after that if we place an order, production can begin. Hindi kasi off the shelf ang vaccine, it has to be produced once the orders are in—I mean, once the contracts are signed and this would be right now a government-to-government. Gamaleya is the only one producing as a government; the other vaccines around the world are essentially private,” ani Sorreta.
Sa ngayon, sinabi ni Sorreta na nakakapag-supply na ang Gamaleya ng bakuna sa 33 mga bansa.
Patakaran kasi aniya ng Russia na makipag-partner sa iba pang mga bansa para sa produksyon ng mga bakuna.
