Pinaburan ng 177 mambabatas ang House Bill 9156 o “Comprehensive Renal Replacement Therapy Act.” Palalawakin rin ang benepisyo mula sa Philhealth para sa kidney transplant replacement therapy at iba pang procedures.
Si Bayan Muna party-list Representative Carlos Zarate ang may-akda ng Free Dialysis Bill. Nagpasalamat siya sa mga kapwa kongresistang sumang-ayon sa panukala.
“We believe that the passing of House Bill 9156 acknowledges two things: one, that health is something that the ordinary Filipino could not afford, and two, that the government is scrimping on health budget despite the desperate need of our people,” pahayag ni Zarate.
“We call on the immediate passage of the Senate counterpart of this bill so that it may be made into law the soonest time possible, because the government should decisively act on the worsening renal diseases in the country, exacerbated by worsening poverty, dagdag pa niya.
Meron ding No Balance Billing (NBB) policy ang iminumungkahing batas at pagtaas ng PhilHealth Z Benefit package para sa peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis matapos ang kidney transplant procedures. Kailangan rin sumailalim sa training ang mga Nephrologist, dialysis nurse, dialysis technician, at operating room nurses na maitatalaga sa operasyon.
Itutuloy naman ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) ang kinakailangan sessions ng peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis kapag buong nagamit ng pasyente ang kanyang PhilHealth benefit package.
