Aprubado ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagbibigay ng hazard pay sa mga kawani ng pamahalaan na patuloy sa pagseserbisyo sa gitna ng banta ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Government employees and workers engaged through contract of service (COS) or job order (JO), whose services are urgently necessary and who physically report for work during the period of the Enhanced Community Quarantine are inevitably exposed to health risks and hazards,” saad ng Presidente.
Batay sa kautusan, kailangan awtorisado ang pagpasok ng mga manggagawa upang maging kwalipikado sa hazard pay.
Hindi naman sakop ng direktiba ang Kongreso at Hudikatura pero puwedeng makakuha ng hazard pay ang mga empleyado nito.
Maaring ibawas sa personal service allotments ng kani-kanilang ahensiya ang nasabing dagdag at kung ‘di kaya ng P500 kada araw, posible pa itong babaan.
“The President is making this presidential directive as his way of alleviating the present hazardous situation of these government workers who have placed their lives on the line in this battle against the coronavirus in the name of public service,” sabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
Samantala, hinimok ng gobyerno na ipatupad ng pribadong sektor ang pamamahagi ng hazard pay na naka-duty habang nasa ilalim ng enhanced community quarantine ang buong Luzon.
Sa datos ng Department of Health (DOH) nitong Martes, umakyat na sa mahigit 500 ang bilang ng kumpirmadong kaso ng COVID-19 kung saan 33 ang namatay at 19 naman ang gumaling.
