Pabor ang ilang motorista na taasan ang multa sa mga hindi awtorisadong gagamit o dadaan sa EDSA Bus Carousel lane.
Reaksyon ito ng mga motorista matapos aprubahan ng Metro Manila Council (MMC) ang mas mataas na multa simula sa November 13.
Sa ilalim ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Regulation No. 23-002, ang mas mataas na multa ay:
• first offense – P5,000
• second offense – P10,000 plus one month suspension of driver’s license, and required to undergo a road safety seminar
• third offense – P20,000 plus one year suspension of driver’s license
• fourth offense – P30,000 plus recommendation to Land Transportation Office for revocation of driver’s license.
Ayon kay Toto Padilla, isang motor rider, pabor siya sa mas mahigpit na parusa para madisiplina ang mga pasaway na motorista.
Sinabi naman ni Jay Ryan Eugenio na bagama’t mahirap ang buhay ngayon at pabigat ang dagdag na multa, mainam na rin ito para matuto ang mga pasaway na irespeto ang mga batas trapiko.
Ayon kay MMDA acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes, bubuo sila ng strike force para tumulong sa clearing operations.
