Binasura ng Supreme Court ang kahilingan ng National Union of Journalists of the Philippines Inc. na pagpapalabas ng temporary restraining order (TRO) sa mandatory SIM card registration.
Hindi naman tinukoy ng Kataas-taasang Hukuman ang mga dahilan sa pagbasura sa TRO plea ng NUJP.
Kaugnay nito, inatasan ng Korte Suprema ang respondents na magsumite ng komento sa loob ng sampung araw.
Kabilang sa respondents sa petisyon ang National Telecommunications, National Privacy Commission, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of the Interior and Local Government, at Department of Education.
Gayundin ang telephone companies na Globe Telecom Inc., Smart Communications, Inc., PLDT Inc., Dito Telecommunity Corporation, Digitel Mobile Philippines Inc., na nakakasakop Sun Cellular, at Cherry Mobile Communications Inc.
