Hindi dapat ituring na sarado na ang kaso ng pagkasawi ng magpinsan na sina Kieth at Nolven Absalon dahil lamang sa inako na ang krimen ng CPP-NPA.
“This is not case closed simply because the CPP-NPA owned up to the IED detonation and sought apology. Members of the family of the victims have raised concerns their kin died not just of explosion, but were actually shot as sustained wounds would show,” pahayag ni Agusan Del Norte Rep. Lawrence Fortun.
Giit ni Agusan del Norte Rep. Lawrence Fortun, lalo pa nga dapat na ituloy ang imbestigasyon sa Far Eastern University (FEU) football stalwart at sa pinsan nito kahit pa inako ng CPP-NPA ang responsibilidad sa pampasabog kasabay ng paghingi ng tawad sa pamilya Absalon.
Higit na dapat masilip ang pagkamatay ng magpinsan lalo’t ilan sa mga concerns ng pamilya ng mga biktima ay hindi lamang nasawi ang mga ito sa pagsabog ng landmine kundi nagtamo rin ng tama ng mga bala sa katawan ang mga biktima.
“While the Philippine National Police in Bicol conduct follow-up operations in Masbate, it may be best that the National Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice intervene now to probe the killings,” sabi ni Rep. Fortun.
Dapat na aniyang magsagawa ng follow-up operations ang Philippine National Police sa Bicol kaugnay sa krimen.
Bukod sa PNP ay hinimok na rin ng kongresista ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at Department of Justice (DOJ) na manghimasok na rin sa imbestigasyon sa kaso ng pagpatay sa magpinsang Absalon.
“NBI thoroughness and attention to detail are needed now so that the criminal charges to be filed later before the courts will be airtight and ironclad,” ani Fortun.
Pinabubuo rin ng mambabatas ang DOJ ng special team ng prosecutors na tututok sa kaso.
