Dumagsa na ang Local Government Units (LGUs) na nagpaabot ng interes sa Land Bank of the Philippines na mag-avail ng lending program ng bangko.
Kabilang sa LGUs na nagpaabot ng interes na mag-avail ng loan ay sina Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas at Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez.
Nakiusap naman kay Landbank President and CEO Cecilia Borromeo sina Governors Mandanas at Alvarez na ang loan ng kanilang mga lalawigan ay sa ilalim ng regular lending program at hindi sa Restoration and Invigoration Package for a Self-sufficient Economy Towards Upgrowth (RISE UP) lending program.
Ang RISE UP LGUs o Restoration and Invigoration Package for a Self-sufficient Economy Towards Upgrowth for LGUs ay maaaring ma-avail ng provincial, city at municipal LGUs, para matulungan silang maka-ahon sa epekto ng COVID-19 pandemic.
5 billion pesos ang hirit na loan ng Batangas LGU, habang 1.8 billion naman ang hirit ng Palawan LGU na kapwa naman inaprubahan ng Landbank sa ginanap na virtual meeting kanina.
Humirit naman sa Landbank sina League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) National President Mayor Luis C. Singson at League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) National President Governor Presbitero J. Velasco, Jr. na ibaba sa 3.5 % ang interest rate sa RISE UP lending program, mula sa 4.5%.
Tiniyak naman ni Borromeo na pag-aaralan nila sa board ang naturang kahilingan ng local officials.
Pormal na ring nilagdaan kanina ang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) sa pagitan ng Landbank at nina Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) National President Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua, League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) National President Governor Presbitero J. Velasco, Jr., League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) National President Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia, at League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) National President Mayor Luis C. Singson para sa nasabing programa.
