Tiniyak ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na hahabulin ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang mga hoarders at profiteers ng food products lalo na ang basic commodities.
Ayon kay Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, handa silang tumulong sa sub-task group na binuo ng pamahalaan na tututok sa mga grupo o negosyanteng sinasamantala ang pandemya para kumita.
“Pursuant to that manifestation, the DOJ will issue a department order directing the NBI to gather actionable information that may be used to run after hoarders and profiteers reportedly manipulating the prices of pork, vegetables, and other basic foodstuff,” ani Guevarra.
Ang DOJ ay bahagi ng sub-task group on economic intelligence kung saan pangangasiwaan ito ng Department of Agriculture (DA) at Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
