Nilinaw ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na hindi requirement para sa mga OFWs na makapasok sa Singapore ang maturukan ng COVID-19 vaccine.
Ito ang tiniyak ng kagawaran matapos sila makatanggap ng paglilinaw mula kay Labor Attache in Singapore Saul De Vries.
Ayon kay De Vries, ang Singaporean Government ay nagpapatupad ng mahigpit na quarantine protocols dahil sa pabalik-balik na kaso ng COVID-19 cases.
Pero ang vaccination aniya ay hindi bahagi ng kanilang arrival protocols.
“It is not a condition for OFWs to be inoculated before departing for their jobs. However, the Singapore government requires them to undergo a 21-day institutional quarantine and take RT-PCR,” sabi ni De Vries.
Dahil sa case recurrence, sinabi ni De Vries na pansamantalang sinuspinde ng Singapore ang entry approval applications ng foreign workers mula sa high-risk countries.
Nasa 200,000 Pilipino ang nasa Singapore na karamihan ay professionals, skilled workers, household service workers, healthcare workers, service sector, at information technology industries.
Samantala, inaprubahan ng Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Singapore ang higit 200 job orders para sa vaccinators na may buwanang sahod na nasa ₱63,000.
