Bulakenyos continue to receive more assistance from the Office of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go as his team delivered various forms of aid to typhoon victims in San Ildefonso and San Rafael, Bulacan on Wednesday, December 9.
In his video message to the victims, Go reminded the residents to continue adhering to the government’s health protocols to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, especially as the holiday season draws near.
He also reminded Bulakenyos of the Malasakit Centers located at the Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos City and Rogaciano M. Mercado Memorial Hospital in Sta. Maria, advising them to seek help from these one-stop shops should they need government medical assistance.
His team provided meals, food packs, vitamins, masks and face shields to a total of 2,622 beneficiaries from two separate distribution activities in San Ildefonso, with 1,286 beneficiaries and San Rafael, with 1,336 beneficiaries.
Selected beneficiaries also received bicycles, an alternative and convenient mode of transportation given limited options amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Others were given tablets so their children take part in the online classes schools are carrying out under the blended learning approach.
Additionally, the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided each beneficiary with financial assistance to help in their immediate needs. The Department of Trade and Industry conducted an assessment and validation to individuals qualified for the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa livelihood program while the National Housing Authority also evaluated the fire victims to provide housing aid through the Emergency Housing Assistance Program.
During the activity in San Ildefonso, the Senator recognized and thanked the government agencies and local government officials, including the barangay officials for their untiring service to their constituents.
The activity was carried out in strict observance of the government-issued health and safety protocols.
