Bumuhos sa social media ang pagbati kasunod ng makasaysayang pagkapanalo ni Filipino golfer na si Yuka Saso sa 76th Women’s Open golf tournament sa San Francisco, California, USA.
Si 19-anyos na si Saso ang unang half-Filipino, half-Japanese at pinakabatang nanalo sa premier golfing tournament.
Kabilang sa mga nagpaabot ng congratulatory messages ay ilang opisyal ng pamahalaan, sports superstars at diplomats.
Sa kanyang tweet, sinabi ni Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koshikawa Kazuhiko, nakaka-proud ang mga tinatamasa at mga susunod pang tagumpay ni Saso.
“Congrats to Yuka Saso for winning the 76th US Women’s Open at The Olympic Club in San Francisco on Sunday! This is a historic victory for Japanese-Filipino golf! We are proud of the milestones she has and will continue to achieve,” ani Ambassador Kazuhiko.
Nagpaabot din ng pagbati ang former world number one golfer na si Rory Mcllroy (MAK-LI-ROY) ng Northern Ireland.
Para kay Eighth division boxing champion, Senator Manny Pacquiao, ipinakita ni Saso ang galing ng mga Pilipino sa naturang larangan.
“Mabuhay Ka! Yuka Saso. You have shown to the world the Filipino greatness as the world’s youngest champion in the prestigious 2021 US Women’s Open. I join the entire Filipino nation in celebrating your victory. We are so proud of you,” sabi ni Pacquiao sa Twitter.
Buong nagkakaisa ang Filipino community sa Northern California at Philippine Consulate sa San Francisco sa pagbati kay Saso.
“The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco congratulates 19-year-old Filipina golfer Ms. Yuka Saso for winning the 2021 76th US Women’s Open in San Francisco! Mabuhay!” sabi ng Konsulada sa kanilang official Twitter account.
Pinuri rin ni Vice President Leni Robredo ang husay at puso ng mga kabataang Pilipino tulad ni Saso.
“Iba talaga ang husay at puso ng kabataang Pinoy. Maraming salamat, Yuka, for making history as the new #USWomensOpen champion!,” ani Robredo sa kanyang tweet.
Binabati rin ng Malacañang si Saso sa pagbibigay karangalan para sa Pilipinas.
“The Palace greets Yuka Saso for bringing honor to PH by winning the 2021 US Women’s Open. She is indeed the pride and glory of our country. We are all proud of you. Congratulations,” statement ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Si Saso ay kasalukuyang no. 22 sa world Olympic rankings pero aangat pa ito kasunod ng kanyang pagkapanalo.
