Pinuri ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang China at mga manggagawa nito sa pagtatayo ng Estrella-Pantelon Bridge.
Ayon sa pangulo, walang ginawa ang pamahalaan kundi pangasiwaan ang proyekto.
Hindi kinuha ni Pangulong Duterte ang credit sa konstrusyon ng tulay.
Ito ay aniya’y gawa ng China at mga tauhan ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
“This is not my work. This is the work of the people involved directly, the People’s Republic of China, who provided the money, and the workhorse of the DPWH and its dedicated workers, at ‘yung mga taong naghirap dito. Sa kanila ito ang proyekto,” sabi ni Pangulong Duterte.
“The credit and the honor should belong to the one who funded the project and, of course, the one who toiled night and day to make this bridge a reality,” dagdag pa ng pangulo.
Pero iginiit ni Pangulong Duterte na patunay ito na nais ng pamahalaan na ibigay ang komportableng pamumuhay ng publiko.
Workers on the way up of the echelons of government have nothing to do with this except maybe to supervise, and from time to time, ask the progress of the project in Cabinet meetings,” anang pangulo.
“It is a testament to the strong commitment of this administration to improve mobility and promote ease of travel among motorists and commuters in Metro Manila and its adjacent communities,” dagdag pa ng Punong Ehekutibo.
Nagpapasalamat din si Pangulong Duterte sa China sa pagpondo sa proyekto.
Ang Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge ay inaasahang makakatulong para mapaluwag ang EDSA at i-accomodate ang nasa 50,000 na motorista kada araw.
Isa ito sa 25 infrastructure projects sa ilalim ng EDSA Decongestion Program.
Kokonektahin ng tulay ang Estrella Steet sa Makati City sa Pantaleon Street at Barangka Drive sa Mandaluyong City.
