Magsusumite ngayong araw ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) ng proposal na gawing pantay ang sahod ng health workers sa mga pribadong ospital sa lebel ng health workers na nagtatrabaho sa public health facilties.
Ayon kay Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, mahalagang pantay ang natatanggap na sahod ng health workers saanmang sektor sila nagtatrabaho.
“I am going to present to the IATF (a) proposed increase in (the wages) of our nurses and medical workers in the private sector to the level of the nurses and medical workers in the public sector,” sabi ni Bello.
“Whatever will be the amount, as long as they are equal to those in the public sector since the hazards in their exercise of their profession are the same,” dagdag ng kalihim.
Sinabi ni Bello na ang isyu sa sahod ang isa sa dahilan kung bakit maraming health workers lalo na ang mga nurse ang napipilitang magtrabaho sa ibang bansa.
“They are practically constrained to work abroad because of the lack of appreciation of their profession here in the country,” ani Bello.
Umaasa ang DOLE na masesertipikahan ng IATF ang panukalang ito kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
