Malaki man ang impluwensya dahil sa pagpapaugong nito sa pangalan ng mga kandidato, hindi pa rin hawak ng mga survey ang resulta ng eleksyon dahil gabay lamang ito ng mga botante na may sariling desisyon sa gusto nilang maging susunod na lider.
Ito ang pananaw ng mga senatorial candidate sa ilalim ng tambalan nina Partido Reporma presidential bet Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson at vice presidential aspirant Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III.
Ibinahagi nila ito kasunod ng paglabas ng resulta ng isang survey para sa national elections ngayong 2022, kasabay ng pagsisimula ng opisyal na kampanya
“This is my personal stake as far as surveys are concerned. I’m probably also a – what? – number 20, 22. I don’t know. But like I said in several interviews, surveys don’t shake the ground we walk on because surveys are done as a way to kind of like see and give you guidance, and kind of mind-condition the people – the public,” ayon kay Partido Reporma senatorial aspirant at dating taekwondo champion Monsour del Rosario.
Lahad ni Del Rosario, sa kanyang pangangampanya kasama nina Lacson at Sotto, personal niyang nasaksihan ang pagtanggap at pasasalamat ng mga Pilipino sa pagtakbo ng dalawang batikang public servants bilang presidente at bise-presidente.
“I see the people how they react to the two of them and more so, when there are times that I go out on my own and I enter the palengkes, the public markets, the fish ports, and people are excited and happy that I’m running. They’re happy that I’m with Senator Ping and Tito Sotto. So, I based my campaign trail on those people, not so much on the survey,” aniya.
Ito umano ang nagpapalakas sa senatorial aspirant at dating kongresista ng Makati City upang hindi umatras sa laban para mahalal na opisyal sa national government.
Ibinahagi rin ni dating Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol, guest candidate ng Lacson-Sotto tandem, ang parehong bisyon sa “Meet the Press” forum nitong Huwebes.
Aniya, sa kabila ng mababang rating sa survey niya ay hindi siya nag-aalala dahil tagumpay nang maituturing ang maibahagi niya ang kanyang mga adbokasiya sa national political stage.
“You know, elections are not just about winning it. Elections are about presenting your advocacies and leaving the judgement to the people to decide whether your advocacies are worth supporting, whether your advocacies will change their lives. So, ito lang naman po ‘yung aking punto,” ayon sa dating gobernador at brodkaster.
Sinang-ayunan din ito ni Del Rosario, aniya, “Of course, we all want to win. And the fact that you brought your advocacies on the national stage and people can hear you, listen to you talk, is already a lot, you’ve gained a lot of ground already.”
Pakiusap naman ng tumatakbo rin sa pagkasenador na si Dra. Minguita Padilla, ang founder ng Eye Bank of the Philippines na gamitin ang konsensya at talino sa pagboto.
“Ano [ba] talaga ang gusto niyong makita sa hinaharap para sa mga kabataan, para sa anak niyo, sa mga apo? Then you choose your leaders based on that. Kilalanin niyo po ‘yung mga tumatakbo. Don’t listen first now to the surveys. That’s up to the candidates to use as guidance, but don’t let it shape your decision at the moment,” pahayag ni Dr. Padilla.
Pinuri naman nina Lacson at Sotto ang kanilang mga senatorial candidate na anila’y ‘complete package’ at matagal na umanong kailangan ng ating bansa para magkaroon ng pagbabago sa hanay ng mga senador.
