Dapat islan ang mga naglan sang bugas sa merkado agud malikawan ang “deception and unfair trade practices” suno kay Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel PiƱol.
Ang mga bugas nga ginabaligya sa merkado dapat may label lang nga Regular Milled Rice, Well-Milled Rice, Long Grain Head Rice and Special Rice which would include Heirloom and Organic Rice” suno kay PiƱol.
“The truth is, aside from ‘Dinorado’ and ‘Jasmine,’ there is no such thing as ‘Sinandomeng’ or ‘Angelica’ rice varieties,” ang pahayag ni PiƱol.
“Worse, the ‘Dinorado’ and ‘Jasmine’ sold in the market are not the real rice varieties, thus the retailers are guilty of deception and unfair trade practice.”
May pagahiwaton naman nga “special meeting” subong nga adlaw kag ginalauman ang desisyon sang National Food Authority (NFA) Council angot sa pag-rename sa mga bugas.
Kon i-adopt ang polisa, mahimo ma revoke ang lisensya sang mga non-compliant rice traders kag retailers.
