PCSO: 31 millionaires shares P1.9 billion lotto jackpot prize from 2020 to 2021

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office upholds its commitment as the principal government agency for raising and providing for funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities of national character through charity sweepstakes races, lotteries, and other similar activities.

Records from the Gaming, Product Development and Marketing Sector indicated that from CY2020 to CY2021, PCSO produced 31 millionaires, these are the lucky individuals and become an instant millionaire by sharing with each other although not equally the total amount of P1,968,217,892,00 jackpot winnings from PCSO game products such as Lotto 6/42, MegaLotto 6/45, SuperLotto 6/49, GrandLotto 6/55, and SuperLotto 6/58.

For 2020, records show that PCSO succeeded in transforming the lives of the 21 lucky players who shared a total jackpot prize of P1,502,218,180.00. There are eight winners for Lotto 6/42 who shared P225,834,319.00 jackpot prize, seven millionaires shared P 361,376,215.20 for MegaLotto 6/45, two lucky player shared P331,128,476,20 winnings for SuperLotto 6/49, three winners for GrandLotto 6/55 shared P244,662,132.00 and sole winner of UltraLott0 6/58 got P 339,217,037.60 jackpot prize.

For 2021, PCSO likewise released a total amount of P465,999,712.00 winnings to ten lucky players who bagged the jakpot prize in various Lotto games. Of the ten, five won the jackpot prize of P67,536,514.20 from Lotto 6/42, two players shared the total winnings of P48,388,256,.00 from MegaLotto 6/45, two winners from SuperLotto 6/49 shared P103,989,839 jackpot prize respectively and a solo winner from UltraLotto 6/58 wins P246,085,102.00.

PCSO Charter mandates that 55 percent of its revenues should be allocated for payment of prizes, 15 percent for operational expenses and 30 percent for its charity funds health programs, medical assistance, and services.

PCSO General Manager reiterated that the Agency’s total revenue for 2020 came to P18,63 billion, compared to 2019 P44.03 billion (sales were affected due to the suspension of PCSO games in light of PRRD’s declaration of a State of Calamity and Public Health Emergency). “Come to think of it, even in the midst of the pandemic that the whole country is experiencing due to the corona virus, we were able to produce 31 millionaires, this only shows that PCSO brings not only hope for the sick but also hope for those who want to become millionaire just like our 31 lucky individuals” she added.

GM Garma urged the public to keep on patronizing the game products of PCSO as a large portion of its revenue goes to charity programs. One of the key programs of PCSO is the Medical Access Program which is designed to augment the medical needs of our fellow Filipinos nationwide particularly hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, post-transplant medicines and hemophilia.

PCSO implemented the 20 percent tax on lottery winnings if the amount of winning is above P10,000 as stipulated in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law (TRAIN). Further, Agent of the lotto outlet is entitled to 1% of the jackpot prize or a maximum Php 1 million, as agent’s commission for selling the lucky jackpot- winning ticket.

PCSO will continue to earn more revenues to deliver services to the public to help Filipinos nationwide through the charity programs of PCSO like the Medical Access Program (MAP), Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) Donation Program, Medicine Donation Program, Medical and Dental Mission Program, Calamity Assistance Program, Institutional Partnership Program (IPP) and Integrated Health for Overall Productivity and Empowerment (I-HOPE).
