Mandaluyong City – PCSO condemns the attack on PCSO personnel, which resulted in the death of Board Secretary Atty. Wesley A. Barayuga on July 30, 2020. The incident left his driver Mr. Jojo Gunao wounded, who is now in the hospital for medical care.
According to initial report that reached the office, unidentified male on board a motorcycle opened fire on the car where Barayuga was, while traversing Calbayog St. in Brgy. Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City.
The incident is currently under investigation. The Security Office of PCSO is closely coordinating with the Philippine National Police in Mandaluyong City to immediately identify the persons behind the attack so that justice will be served.
With sadness, PCSO extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family of Atty. Wesley A. Barayuga, our colleague, friend and family.
His untimely demise is a loss to PCSO. His selfless dedication to public service will always be remembered.
PCSO will not stop and leave any stone unturned in its quest for justice on this tragic event. May he rest in peace.
PCSO also sends its wishes for the speedy and full recovery of Mr. Gunao, the wounded driver.
