Bacoor City, Cavite. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Vice Chairperson and General Manager Royina M. Garma, represented by Ms. Marie Louise Serojales, together with Corporate Planning Department, delivered immediate much needed help for the victims of a huge community fire in Panapaan III, Bacoor City, Cavite. 450 families benefitted in the said event, held at Gov. P.F. Cruz, Panapaan, Bacoor City, Cavite, on April 17, 2021. Together with PCSO during the event are partner government agencies form the Convergence Team, namely: (DSWD, DTI, PAGCOR, DOH, DA NHA and OPAV.
According to Barangay Captain Alvin Bryan Macavinta of Barangay Panapaan III the fire started from an improvised stove explosion, damaging over 100 homes in Sitio Tibag. The houses were easily burned because they’re made-up of light materials, coupled with gusty wind occurring that day. “Three people sustained minor injuries and were given immediate attention by the emergency medical services team.” Capt. Macavinta added.
The fire victims were presently relocated at Gov. P.F. Cruz Elementary School in Barangay Panapaan, Bacoor City, where the Convergence Team conducted its Relief Operation, together with other civic oriented group who also came out to help bring variety of assistance for the victims. Free swabbing was also conducted before the event started. Assuring the safety of everyone, especially those families who were already victimized and lost their homes and precious personal belongings from the fire which occurred last April 13, 2021 at around 1:16pm, in Sitio Tibag
In an interview, Kagawad Ronald Reyes expressed his heart-felt thanks to GM Royina Marzan Garma for her immediate assistance brought by PCSO that day. “Ako po sampu po ng aking mga kasamahang opisyal ay mga biktima ng malaking sunog sa Sitio Tibag ay lubos na nagpapasalamat kay Ma’am Royina Marzan Garma sa napakaraming relief packs na ipinadala sa aming mga biktima ng sunog. Taos-pusong pasasalamat po at pagpalain pa po kayo ng Maykapal.”
