The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over five (5) Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to the local government of Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur in a ceremony held on December 23, 2025 at the PCSO Main Office, Sun Plaza Building, Mandaluyong City.
The donation was received by Sta. Catalina Mayor Eugene Rapanut from PCSO Assistant General Manager for the Gaming Sector Atty. Lyssa Grace Pagano, as part of PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of local governments to respond to medical emergencies.
AEDs are vital life-saving devices used during cases of sudden cardiac arrest, allowing responders to deliver immediate intervention while patients are being brought to medical
facilities. With the new units, Sta. Catalina’s frontliners and healthcare responders are expected to further enhance local readiness in addressing urgent health situations.
Atty. Pagano underscored that the initiative reflects PCSO’s continuing commitment to health preparedness and to delivering timely support that helps protect lives in communities.
