PCSO gives medical aid to 21,599 in March

Mandaluyong City. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) provided medical aid to 21,599 Filipinos amounting to Php145,067,854.17 from March 1 to 31, 2021under the Medical Access Program (MAP) of the agency.

Under the program, PCSO assists individuals of their medical needs and expenses arising from Hospital Confinement, Chemotherapy, Dialysis, Hemophilia and provision of Post-transplant Medicines.

Despite the alarming increase of Covid-19 cases that have again filled up most hospitals in Metro Manila and the risk of infection is higher due to the mutated strain of the virus, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) soldiered on and was able to provide medical assistance to our countrymen.


On a per case basis for the month of March, Php76,797,361.77 was given to 9,448 patients that needed hospital confinement.  Php42,557,604.89 went to dialysis sessions of 9,287 patients.  2,603 patients who seek chemotherapy treatments were granted a total of Php23,188,068.65.  Post-operation medication amounting to Php2,264,315.74 was given to 237 patients. Hemophilia treatments amounting to Php260,503.12 was provided to 24 individuals.

Based on the region or department where the assistance was provided, the Northern and Central Luzon (NCL) Department provided Php35,369,495.00 to 5,271 individuals.  The Southern Tagalog and Bicol Region (STBR) posted Php30,962,498.96  as provision for the medical needs of 5,584 patients.  The Visayas Department of the agency granted the amount of Php25,122,767.72 to 3,853 indigents in that region.  The Mindanao Department meanwhile subsidized medical needs of 3,389 patients in the total amount of Php22,211,465.63.   Lastly the National Capital Region (NCR) Department shouldered the medical expenses of 3,502 individuals in the amount of Php31,401,626.86.

According to PCSO Vice Chairperson and General Manager Royina M. Garma, “The PCSO shall continue to provide medical assistance for  every Filipino in need, to lighten the load and in healing our less fortunate kababayans. We are thankful to the Office of the President and to the IATF for allowing PCSO to continue the conduct of lotto draws in our main office in Mandaluyong for our lotto patrons in Visayas and Mindanao and to those outside of the NCR+ bubble which is now under ECQ.  We are hand in hand with the national government’s efforts  in eradicating the virus and its effects on health and the economy that’s why we urge the players to continue playing PCSO’s “Larong may Puso na sumusunod sa mga itinakda na health and safety protocols ng ahensiya dahil malaki po ang naitutulong ninyo sa ating mga kababayan, pwede pang makamit ang pangarap na manalo ng Jackpot at iba pang pa premyo.”
