Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Vice Chairperson and General Manager Royina Marzan-Garma, represented by Marie Louise Serojales of the GM’s Office, distributed relief packs to 200 local mariners who just got inoculated against COVID-19 at the AMOSUP Building in Intramuros, Manila on June 25, 2021.
Ricky T. Gaviola, Personal Assistant to the President of the Associated Marine Officers and Seamen’s Union of the Philippines, welcomed the Team PCSO and received the relief packs which were handed out to hundreds of local mariners during their “AMOSUP Seamen’s Hospital Nandito na Ang Resbakuna kasangga ng Bida” event which was supported by Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go’s Team whom included DSWD, DTI, PAGCOR, NHA, DOLE, OPAV and PCSO.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa ibinigay na ayuda ni PCSO GM Garma para sa ating magigiting na seamen na aming din biniyayaan ng free COVID-19 vaccineS at natulungan din ng ibat-ibang ahensya ng Gobyerno sa pangunguna ni Senador Bong Go,” said Gaviola.
Lito Sulat Dagohoy, who has been a long time mariner who is waiting for his opportunity to be called abroad for his next job personally, thanked PCSO GM Garma by saying “Ma’am Garma maraming salamat po sa inyong ipinagkaloob sa akin at sa mga kasamahan kong mga marinero, ito po ay makakatulong sa amin sa hirap ng buhay ngayon.”
Thousands of employees, laborers, OFWs and businesses have been affected by the worldwide pandemic including our mariners and seamen who lost their jobs and have to deal with daily hardships. Senator Bong Go has been tasked by President Duterte to assemble a crisis intervention team that can create an immediate impact on situations /calamities from natural or man-made in nature.
GM Garma urges the public to continiously support PCSO’s gaming products in order for the agency to help more Filipinos in need throught its numerous charity programs.
