Mandaluyong City. Notwithstanding the limited areas of selling operations, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) continues to raise and provide funds for its health programs. The Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) category afforded the National Capital Region plus the provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal and Cavite also called NCR+, has curtailed Lotto ticket selling for Lotto, Keno, STL and Scratch tickets in the said areas. Nevertheless, more than Php34 Million was raised by the agency to augment medical assistance requests that cover Hospital Confinement, Chemotherapy, Dialysis, Hemophilia and Post-operation Medicines.
From April 19 to 23, 2021, PCSO donated Php34,493,845.25 for the Medical Access Program (MAP) recipients. From the total amount, Php19,062,248.03 was spent for the Hospital Confinement of 2,200 patients, Php4,138,049.16 was shared by 481 patients that needed Chemotherapy treatments and medicines and Php10,768,129.81 was allocated for Dialysis sessions of 2,347 patients. The Php455,418.25 was provided for Post-operation medicines of 47 patients and Php70,000.00 was allotted for Hemophilia treatments of 7 individuals.
PCSO Vice Chairperson and General Manager Royina M. Garma reiterates her request. “Ipagpatuloy po natin ang pagtangkilik sa mga Larong may Puso dahil sa tuwing po kayo’y tumataya ng Lotto at ng mga palaro ng PCSO, sigurado po na ang inyong pera ay napupunta sa lahat ng programa ng gobyerno especially sa Universal Health Care.”
