PCSO turns over ₱970,000 to New Institutional Partner DAWN under IPP

MANDALUYONG CITY — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over a ₱970,000 check to Development Action for Women Network (DAWN), its new partner-organization under the Institutional Partnership Program (IPP), during a ceremony at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong on Jan. 21, 2026.

PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles led the turnover and personally handed the check to DAWN officials, underscoring the agency’s commitment to support institutions with proven track records in social welfare and humanitarian service.

DAWN was cited for more than three decades of work in assisting women migrant workers in distress, as well as their children, and survivors of gender-based violence and human trafficking encountered during overseas employment.

PCSO said DAWN was recognized as an IPP partner following a review of the organization’s credentials and program profile, which qualified it to join the agency’s roster of institutional partners.

Present during the turnover were DAWN Chairperson and President Carmelita Nugui and the organization’s coordinator, Lance Velasco. DAWN officials expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the financial assistance is expected to boost the organization’s resources and help expand programs to reach more beneficiaries.

PCSO said the turnover forms part of its continuing efforts to collaborate with eligible non-government organizations providing vital services to marginalized and vulnerable sectors. Through the IPP, the agency aims to strengthen community-based initiatives and help ensure that assistance reaches those most in need.

With PCSO support, DAWN is expected to further enhance its advocacy and service delivery for women migrant workers and survivors of abuse, reinforcing its long-standing mission of empowerment, protection, and recovery for women and their families.
