Bago nito, si Fernandez ay naging consul general at deputy chief of mission sa Spain, first secretary at consul general sa Jordan, at second secretary at consul sa Italy.
Ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO), ang ambassador sa Pakistan ay mayroon ding jurisdiction sa Afghanistan, Kyrgyz Republic, at Tajikistan.
Samantala, itinalaga rin si Jose Eduardo Antonio bilang ambassador at-large.
Habang nagtalaga rin ang Pangulo ng mga bagong opisyal sa Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Agriculture (DA), Local Water Utilities Administration, Department of Health (DOH), Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), at Office of the President (OP).
