In light of the recent increase of patients under investigation (PUIs) and confirmed cases of COVID-19, as well as the declaration of a public health emergency through Proclamation No. 922, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has readied a response package that shall include cost of testing. This is on top of the previously announced referral and isolation packages.
As the health insurer of the nation, PhilHealth stands prepared to respond to the challenges of COVID-19. We remind all accredited health care providers not to turn away anyone with symptoms of the virus, but instead follow protocols as prescribed by health authorities.
PhilHealth is one with the government in reminding the public to take precautions by observing proper hygiene. Washing of hands and avoiding close contact remain the top practices in arresting the spread of COVID-19.
Further details such as benefit amount and availment procedures, among others, shall be made available to the public once the guidelines are established.
