Davao City – Gilaraw ni Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio nga i-exempt ang Davao City sa deklarasyon sa Martial Law sa Mindanao.
Matud sa alkalde nga i-request niya kini ngadto sa iyahang amahan nga si Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
“I will write the President to exempt Davao City from the declaration of martial law in Mindanao since martial law can be localized, just one or two areas. It doesn’t have to be the entire area of Mindanao,” segun sa mayora.
Sumala ni Sara, hangyoon niya ang Sangguniang Panglungsod nga tun-an ang pagpanday sa usaka resolusyon subay sa request sa City hall nga wagtangon ang atong lokalidad gikan sa martial law coverage sa entero Mindanao.
Usa usab kini sa mga nahisgutan sa mayor atol sa meeting niini uban ang nagkadaiyang mga European Ambassadors atol sa 2019 Davao Investment Conference (Davao ICon) sa SMX Convention Center.
Sa pakighinabi niini ngadto kang Swedish Ambassador Harald Fries, aminado ang mayor nga wala siya nasayod kung kanus-a ma-lift ang martial law.
Usa gayud ang martial law sa concerns sa mga negosyante ug mga turista nga buot moduaw dinhing dapita.
“I understand the concern of those who are not used to being militarized. Because usually foreign tourists, when they see military people, they think there’s something wrong. So, we are always trying to look at it at a positive side and then hopefully, when the other areas of Mindanao stabilizes, well then, the declaration of martial law (may) be lifted,” segun sa alkalde.
