Social Welfare: Common Preparedness Tips When There Is A Typhoon

🌂 Keep all communication lines open. Make sure your phone is charged. ( if applicable,      charge your car battery as well. This will be useful in case there is power outage.)
☔ Keep tab of everyone. Know and inform your family/friends where you are at, specially on situations like this.
🧢 Keep the children, specially the little ones, in a safe and dry place.
🍪 Stock ready-to-eat foodstuff good for 2-3 days, i.e., bread, canned goods, sardines, milk, water, candies. Do not forget the OTCs (over-the-counter) medicines too.
🚨 Put the emergency survival kit in a place that is easily accessible such as flashlight, whistle, candles, matchbox, ropes, etc.
✋🏼 Create a code/sign understandable to each one to get directions, what to do, where to go. (Example, 3 whistle blows means “stay on the 2nd floor of the house.”
🕍 Know and agree to go to a designated evacuation place when you need to leave your house/building.
📻 Stay tuned to your local TV or radio station (like RMN DZXL Manila, DYHP Cebu, DZMD General Santos, etc.) for more updates.
🙏🏼 Stay calm, focused and say a prayer. It works!
