With a theme “Changing Lives, Building a Safer Nation”, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 12, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) ROXII, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Regional Office XII, Department of Health (DOH) XII and Local Government Unit of Sultan Kudarat held on September 12, 2018 the Evaluation and Issuance of Drug-Cleared Jail Facility to Sultan Kudarat District Jail in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
The said jail facility, under the leadership of JCINSP Israel R Arboleda, is the first in the region to be declared as Drug-Cleared Jail Facility pursuant to the provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement between PDEA and BJMP in Declaring Drug-Cleared and Drug-Free BJMP Jail Facilities. The MOA was signed by Director General Aaron N Aquino and J/DIR Deogracias C Tapayan on November 17, 2017.
With the parameters complied by Sultan Kudarat District Jail based on the Implementing Rules and Regulations of declaring drug-cleared jail facilities, and after the validation conducted by the oversight committee composed of PDEA, DILG, BJMP, DOH and LGU, SKDJ was declared as drug-cleared.
Regular conduct of monitoring and quarterly validation of the said jail will be the task of the oversight committee. The certification of the jail being drug-cleared may be revoked in case the jail fails to sustain all the requirements stated on the IRR.
