Its mandate is to protect ALL the helpless, give voice to ALL the voiceless and empower ALL the powerless, ALL those who do not have the necessary means for survival against the malpractices and abuses committed by those in power.
The CHR is a great equalizer: It will be able to maintain its integrity and independence only when it is able to champion the cause of the common man without any prodding from anybody, if it does now become a willing tool of the political opposition for the advancement of their political cause or agenda against the regime – of which it is a part of.
