Manila, Philippines – Umaasa si Opposition Senator Franklin Drilon na hindi magagamit na dahilan ang rebelyon ng New People’s Army upang magdeklara ng Batas Militar sa buong bansa.
“I don’t speculate, I’m just saying, we hope that the citation of the New People’s Army, which was suddenly cited in this extension, won’t be a prelude to a Martial Law nationwide.”
Ito ayon kay Senator Drilon, ay dahil bigla na lamang nagamit na dahilan ang bantang rebelyon ng New People’s Army bilang basehan sa pagpapalawig ng Martial Law sa Mindanao sa susunod na taon.
“Activities of NPA was not cited (before). But today, suddenly it’s there, in fact it was cited as a justification of the extension, the activities of the NPA which occupiesone or almost two pages of the letter.
Ngayong araw, sa botong 240 (pabor)-27 (hindi pabor), inaprubahan ng kongreso ang ang extension ng Batas Militas sa Mindanao, mula January 1 hanggang December 31, 2018.
