Abu nabbed in Zambo City
Lawmen arrested a member of the Abu Sayyaf Group in a police checkpoint in Mercedes, Zamboanga City’s east, last Friday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as Hamad Ajijul Susulan alias Hajer Sailan/Ahmad.
Susulan was held at the RPSB checkpint in Lobregat Highway in Mercedes around 3:10 p.m. while he was aboard a passenger jeepney bound for Taluksangay.
Susulan has a pending warrant of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention and penalized under article 267 of the revised penal code as amended by Republic Act 7659 with case numbers 3432, 3551, 3552, 3566, 3567, 3568, 3569 and 3570.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Leo Jay Principe of Isbela City’s Regional Trial Court branch 1.
Susulan was involved in the Golden Harvest Plantation kidnapping in June 11, 2001.
Susulan was arrested by combined operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Public Safety Battalion 9, Culianan Police Station and NISG, PN. He was detained at the Culianan Police Station for further investigation. – Dan Toribio
