Pormal nang umupo si Major General Romulo Manuel Jr. bilang bagong Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, J2. matapos matanggap ang ikalawang estrella.
Pinangunahan ni Vice Admiral Anthony Reyes, AFP Deputy Chief of Staff ang Change of Chief of Office Ceremony sa General Headquarters sa Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Pinalitan ni Manuel si Major General Alex Luna.
Bilang bagong J2, si Manuel ang mangunguna sa pagbalangkas ng mga plano, programa, at patakaran para sa AFP Chief of Staff sa larangan ng military intelligence.
Bago nito, si Manuel ay dating commander ng Army Artillery Regiment; Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans, G5 ng Philippine Army; pinuno ng Field Artillery Department of the Combat Arms School, Training and Doctrine Command ng Philippine Army.
