Manila, Philippines – Epektibo ngayong araw ay ginagamit na ng hanay ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang kanilang bagong rank classification.
Ang bagong rank classification ay batay sa inamyendahang section 28 ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Act of 1990 na inaprubahan kamakailan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Nakasaad sa batas na magiging pareho na ang rank titles ng pulis sa militar.
Ang bagong rank classification ng PNP ay mula sa:
· Director General magiging Police General
· Deputy Director General magiging Police Lieutenant General
· Police Director magiging Police Major General
· Chief Superintendent magiging Police Brigadier General
· Senior Superintendent magiging Police Colonel
· Superintendent magiging Police Lieutenant Colonel
· Chief Inspector magiging Police Major
· Senior Inspector magiging Police Captain
· Police Inspector magiging Police Lieutenant
· Senior Police Officer (SPO) 4 magiging Police Executive Master Sergeant
· SPO3 magiging Police Chief Master Sergeant
· SPO2 magiging Police Senior Master Sergeant
· SPO1 magiging Police Master Sergeant
· PO3 magiging Police Staff Sergeant
· PO2 magiging Police Corporal
· PO1 magiging Patrolman o Patrolwoman
Ayon kay PNP Spokesperson Police Colonel Bernard Banac, may PNP memorandum nang inilabas ang PNP headquarters para maipakalat sa buong PNP units sa bansa ang bagong rank classification.
Wala naman daw mababago sa ranggo ng mga pulis sa halip tanging ang title lang ang mapapalitan na para sa kanilang hanay ay nakadagdag sa pagiging high morale.
