Pinagbawalan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) at airport personnel na buksan, pakialaman ang COVID-19 vaccine supplies na darating sa bansa sa susunod na linggo.
Bago ito, ipinangako ng Pangulo ang mabilis at maayos na distribusyon ng COVID-19 vaccines sa mga tao, kung saan unang babakunahan ay ang mga medical frontliners, seniors, mahihirap na kababayan at essential workforce.
Sa kanyang Talk to the Nation Address, iginiit ni Pangulong Duterte na hindi dapat inaantala o hinaharang ang maayos na pamamahagi ng bakuna.
“Let me address to every government worker, lahat tayo, do not delay and do not hinder or obstruct the smooth flow na nakikita ninyo, from the time of the arrival to the time of clearance. Maybe ang trabaho lang ninyo Customs, magtingin. You have no business na buksan-buksan dyan. You’re not allowed to do that. I am not allowing you, anybody diyan sa airpot na magbukas bukas,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Inatasan naman ni Pangulong Duterte ang mga police personnel na tiyaking ligtas na maibibiyahe ang vaccine supplies sa iba pang bahagi ng bansa.
“The PNP should provide escorts that would ensure the fastest way of, for the vaccines to arrive in their storage at saka ‘yung even in the matter of transporting from one facility to the other. Ihatid doon sa mga local governments. The police will provide that kind of mobility,” ani Pangulo.
Nagpaalala rin si Pangulong Duterte sa iba pang opisyal ng gobyerno na dapat alam nila ang kanilang responsibilidad sa vaccine rollout, pero hindi dapat mangialam sa trabaho ng task force.
Sina Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. at Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ang mangunguna para matiyak ang maayos na vaccine distribution.
